• Where does the intervention take place?

    1

    Home

We can arrange to see your child in their own home. These are usually daytime sessions. Evening and weekend appointments are available, but limited. If your child attends school, it may be possible for you to request time out for the intervention session. Sessions would take place once per week, for 1 hour, for a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks.

    2

    School

If you would like the intervention to happen at school, and this has been agreed with the educational setting, the intervention would need to take place in a room away from the classroom. This would be agreed at a mutually convenient time. Someone from Independent Steps would visit your child on a weekly basis, and with a TA or other member of staff present, would deliver the programme. The staff member would give feedback on progress and challenges from the week, would be taught new techniques and skills, and together the child and TA would work on these throughout the week.
